There is a bad taste in my mouth pronouncing the word ‘evaluation.’ I am reminded of many experiences with report cards in school and evaluations from employers.

The element of control sickens me when people use evaluations to elicit behavior that promotes their own agendas.

How guilty am I of using the same procedure?
I have participated in being the one giving job evaluations. The whole purpose was to get the desired behavior or cut them loose.

I have regrettably applied this ‘evaluation’ to other relationships in my life. I have dumped girlfriends because they did not live up to my evaluations and I have unfriended people for the same reason.

I do not like the outcome of human evaluation. I want to know God’s evaluation of me. I hope He is not ready to let me go.

Does God think people are evil in general and me in particular?

Here are some answers from other websites:

Yes there are wicked people.

Jesus is with me.

I remember a verse from the bible that says if you, who are evil…
I would like to take a closer look at it to see if God thinks I am evil: Matt 7:7-12 (KJ2000) ” 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? 12 Therefore all things whatsoever you would that men should do to you, do you even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”

The context of ‘you being evil’ includes a man who would give his son a stone when asked for bread. Or at least a man who would think about it but then would not do it.  More so the context is a man who has not sought, has not knocked and has not asked.  Notice Jesus repeats it twice. A sure sign of biblical importance by highlighting it.

How do I pass Your evaluation God?

‘There is only one way. Seek my son, dine with Him at your table and ask Him for anything.’

‘Jesus, Can you let me into Your kingdom? I have tried and can not do it. I have made a lot of mistakes and continue to be unable. Please let me in.’
‘I will but it will take a lifetime of following and learning how to follow. I know You can do it because I have given you My Spirit to enable you.’

Based on this, what is He saying about my evaluation? Am I in or out?
It sounds pretty hopeful.

I must now look at a long verse. It is Colossians 1.  I have included it because I think it answers a lot of the questions raised here:

Col 1:1-29 (KJ2000) ” 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, 2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which you have to all the saints,
5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; 6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and brings forth fruit, as it does also in you, since the day you heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth: 7 As you also learned of Epaphras our dear fellow servant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ; 8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit. 9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 That you might walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12 Giving thanks unto the Father, who has made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things are held together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. 21 And you, that were once alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now has he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblamable and unreprovable in his sight: 23 If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature who is under heaven; of which I Paul am made a minister;
24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church: 25 Of which I am made a minister, according to the commission of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God; 26 Even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: 28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: 29 For which I also labor, striving according to his working, who works in me mightily.”

When I look closely at verses 9-14 I see that I can be filled with the knowledge of Jesus’ will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.
I see that I can walk worthily of the Lord, fully pleasing and being fruitful in every good work.
I understand that I am strengthened with all might according to His glorious power.

Col 1:9-14 (KJ2000) ” 9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 That you might walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12 Giving thanks unto the Father, who has made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”

Zooming in a little closer to verse 12 I notice that the Father has made me fit.

Col 1:12 (KJ2000) ” 12 Giving thanks unto the Father, who has made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: ”

The word fit is Greek hikanoo.

Also verse 29 stresses the same idea.
Col 1:29 (KJ2000) ” 29 For which I also labor, striving according to his working, who works in me mightily. ”

His energeia energeo ‘s Me dunamis (miraculous power)

Without Jesus, His evaluation is ‘I never knew you.’

I want to get to ‘good and faithful servant’

2Cor 3:5-6 (KJ2000) ” 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 6 Who also has made us able ministers of the new covenant; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter kills, but the spirit gives life.”

God’s evaluation of me is that I am a lot better than I have imagined up to this point. Not great without Him but so much greater than I ever knew with Him.
He qualifies me.

2Cor 3:4 (KJ2000) ” 4 And such trust have we through Christ toward God: ”

God sees me through Jesus that I am good.
Really hear what He says.
He created me and said, It is good.

Gen 1:31 (KJ2000) ” 31 And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. ”
On other days things were good but on the sixth day when He created man ‘it was very good.’
