Jesus be with you

Cleanse me

Cleanse me

Eph 5:25-26 (KJ2000) “25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,”

Ezek 36:25 (KJ2000) “25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.”

Eph 5:26 (KJ2000) “26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, ”

Acts 22:12-16 (KJ2000) “12 And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews who dwelt there,13 Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive your sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.14 And he said, The God of our fathers has chosen you, that you should know his will, and see that Just One, and should hear the voice of his mouth.15 For you shall be his witness unto all men of what you have seen and heard.16 And now why do you tarry? arise, and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord. ” –

Titus 3:1-7 (KJ2000) “1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness unto all men.3 For we ourselves also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.4 But after the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared,5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit;6 Whom he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior;7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

Heb 10:19-22 (KJ2000) “19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,20 By a new and living way, which he has consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;21 And having a high priest over the house of God;22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”
1Pet 3:21 (KJ2000) “21 The like figure unto which even baptism does also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: ”
1Pet 1:22-23 (KJ2000) “22 Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto sincere love of the brethren, see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever.”

Number lovers notice 1 Pet 1:23 and 1 Pet 3:21.

1John 1:7 (KJ2000) “7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin. ”

Humility is an action. I must do it. Humble myself.
Isa 6:5-10 (KJ2000) “5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.6 Then flew one of the seraphim unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged.8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear you indeed, but understand not; and see you indeed, but perceive not.10 Make the heart of this people dull, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and return, and be healed.”

Isa 66:5 (KJ2000) “5 Hear the word of the LORD, you that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. ”

Isa 66:2 (KJ2000) “2 For all those things has my hand made, and all those things have been, says the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembles at my word. ”

Matt 3:2-3 (KJ2000) “2 And saying, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare you the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.”

Matt 3:6-12 (KJ2000) “6 And were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come?8 Bring forth therefore fruits befitting for repentance:9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham as our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.10 And now also the ax is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire:12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the barn; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

The Pharisees and Sadducees were using the excuse that their father is Abraham so they can go ahead and sin – by being proud and other sins that don’t break their rules – outwardly.

How much am I like that. Telling myself that I’m OK because of yesterday. And where am I today?
Or using my freedom to sin:
Rom 6:1-2 (KJ2000) “1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer in it?”

Rom 6:15-16 (KJ2000) “15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.16 Know you not, that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are to whom you obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”
‘Jesus, forgive me.’
Rom 6:7 (KJ2000) “7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. ”
2Cor 7:1 (KJ2000) “1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. ”

All this sin talk is making me feel guilty. My usual course of action is to blame churchy Christianity for being to prudeish. It is uncomfortable to admit I am a sinner, I do not want to jeapordize my salvation by admitting I am a sinner, Yet I must confess each day to continue on my journey toward Him.

1Tim 1:14-17 (KJ2000) “14 And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.16 But for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all longsuffering, for an example to them who should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.”

I am free. The sin no longer has a hold on me. I can make perfect decisions today by leaning on Jesus, This is true and amazing. He has freed me from so much.

And yet I am not perfect yet. I continue to make bad decisions which shows me that I need to grow more in Him. He does it. And He does. He has the victory and He can have me.

Go and sin no more.
Today I am free. Part of the hook of addiction is that I continue to sin. It becomes an excuse to keep on sinning because i have been unable to stop. Jesus has the power to do it, Today is a new day.

With the command to sin no more comes the help to do so.

He is with me. I believe.

‘Thank you Jesus.  I can not do it without you.  And with you (W)we can do it.’

John 8:11 (KJ2000) “11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn you: go, and sin no more. ”
Matt 1:22-23 (KJ2000) “22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”

It is Jesus’ name. Emmanuel. God is with us.
