Today I saw a dead mouse on the floor of my garage:
My first thought was ‘I have to find the cat that did that and punish it.
I admit this is not a very christian thing to think.
After I took a closer look I saw the ‘mouse better’
I felt relieved but confused at the same time. I wondered what God was telling me by the experience.
For one thing, my mind is not all it’s cracked up to be. My perceptions are often wrong. I need God and God is good. This last idea came because I was glad not to have to dispose of a dead mouse.
‘Father, help me see things in truth. Your goodness is more present than I ever knew. Change my mind into Your mind.’
Ps 100:5 (KJ2000) ” 5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endures to all generations. ”
Not just 3 generations or even a thousand generations but ALL.
Punish it? If that was a dead mouse, instead of a leaf, you’d be better off rewarding it. Cats are natural born hunters; would you rather have an infestation of rodents?
