I saw a thorn branch today and was sorry for what humankind did to Jesus. Then I realized that I am the one who puts this on His head every time I sin. ‘I am very sorry, Jesus.”
Isa 55:1 (HCSB) ” 1 “Come, everyone who is thirsty, come to the waters; and you without money, come, buy, and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost! ”
Isa 55:5-11 (KJ2000) ” 5 Behold, you shall call a nation that you know not, and nations that knew not you shall run unto you because of the LORD your God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he has glorified you. 6 Seek you the LORD while he may be found, call you upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
Have I known graceful people throughout my life?
I have known many moments when people were full of God’s grace. No person retains His perfection. People are not perfect while on this earth. Jesus is perfect always.
Mary was full of grace. Jesus is full of grace.
Luke 1:28 (KJ2000) ” 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, you that are highly favored, the Lord is with you: blessed are you among women. ”
Luke 2:40 (KJ2000) ” 40 And the child grew, and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. ”
John 1:14 (KJ2000) ” 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. ”
John 1:16-18 (KJ2000) ” 16 And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 18 No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.”
Is it important to have truth along with grace?
How? I can’t answer that but I know who can – Jesus.
Ps 4:4 (KJ2000) ” 4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. ”
Ps 46:10-11 (KJ2000) ” 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. 11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.”
Hab 2:19-20 (KJ2000) ” 19 Woe unto him that says to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in it. 20 But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.”
Zech 2:13 (ESV2011) ” 13 Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD, for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling. ”
Why does God get mad at idol worship? Is it because He is insecure and afraid we will leave Him. He probably doesn’t want us to leave Him but He does not feel incomplete as we do.
Think about how dumb it looks to Him for us to talk to inanimate things. What a waste. I ought to be talking to Him instead. I think He feels sorry for us. I think it makes Him so upset because we are doing the right thing, having a relationship, with the wrong thing something so illogical.
My striving does me no good at all.
Ps 46:4 (NASB) “Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Oops I went to far. There comes a point when speaking about miraculous things where a person’s beliefs start to interfere. At work last night I mentioned that it was a miracle that things were working so well and got a strange look. Sure, I might be attributing things too much to God in their opinion. But in mine they are not attributing enough.
The truth is every breath I take is because of Jesus. Without Him I can do nothing. This is grace.
My challenge is that I am the one who needs to attribute more to His grace. I am the one with barriers that need removing.
‘Father, help me listen to you. You are the source of everything. Guide me today to grow in Your grace.”
How easy it is for me to move on. There are many distractions I can choose from.
‘Father, help me return to you. Keep my eye on you. You are who I highly value. Give me the Holy Spirit to accomplish important things like choosing you minute by minute today.’
