This is a paraphrase quote from 1 Tim 6:17 KJV2000.

I think the enjoy part is pretty important.  If I don’t enjoy the little things He gives me I will not be trusted with more.

I received a flashlight as a Christmas present and instead of appreciating it, truly in my heart. I graciously said thank you and put it away. God really got on my conscience about being thankful for little things. I felt thankful for that flashlight because it was metal and was easy to hold and I really liked it even though i didn’t know what I would do with it. I work nights so when I get home it is dark. My driveway is covered with ice so I must be able to see where the patches of ground are.
Light bulb: I will use the flashlight at night to see my way inside without falling.

How relevant is that to my walk with Jesus? He is my flashlight and He is my solid ground.
Anyway, the point of the story is that I appreciated my flashlight gift and God showed me how to use it. Now I enjoy it very much. It works so well.

(Luke 16:9) And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends by means of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when it fails, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.
(Luke 16:10) He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
(Luke 16:11) If therefore you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
(Luke 16:12) And if you have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?
(Luke 16:13) No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Thank you God

I appreciate your true riches most. Keep my heart and eye singular on you. I love you.

Yes giving money to the poor often comes with a reward. But how generous is God?

And how ignorant am I? ‘Father you know if money will spoil me and hurt my walk with you. I trust you. Give me your grace and what I need to grow in our relationship. You are what I want and what I need. I love you very much.’
